Project Overview
The Eva Copper Mine Project is a greenfield resource poised to become the largest new mine in Queensland, Australia. It is located in Cloncurry on the traditional lands of the Kalkadoon people. The project is owned by Harmony, a world‐class gold and copper mining and development company with assets in South Africa, Australia, and Papua New Guinea.
Job Summary
Support material planning and/or coordination for a large project site. Implement the Material Management Plan, liaise between Project and Field Procurement and Construction, and ensure accurate material reporting and timely delivery for work‐package installation.
Major Responsibilities
* Implement the Material Management Plan and coordinate specification, identification, and quantification of materials with Engineering and Construction during front‐end execution.
* Follow guidelines to optimize materials planning for key commodities.
* Ensure consistent material identification methodology and defined responsibilities between project functions.
* Identify special or approval‐heavy requirements that could delay key engineering deliverables.
* Work with Engineering to obtain critical design drawings and data required from suppliers.
* Assist in implementing component numbering approaches as per sound materials practices and the Automation Plan.
* Verify material requisitions identify pay items and provide adequate detail for shipping, storage and distribution.
* Identify out‐of‐sequence engineering deliverables or approval delays that affect key materials.
* Maintain direct relationships with Project Controls, Discipline Engineers, Supply Chain, Automation Support, and Construction Coordinator to ensure timely material supply.
* Monitor Engineering and Supply Chain schedules to align with construction timelines.
Education and Experience Requirements
* Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5‐8 years of relevant experience, or 9‐12 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills
* Intermediate knowledge of field engineering disciplines, work processes, and deliverables.
* Understanding of standard work process procedures related to materials management.
* Knowledge of vendor, fabricator, contractor, customer interactions with procurement automation tools; familiarity with Bechtel's DSCS preferred.
* Experience with work packaging and materials status reporting.
* Basic skill in communicating effectively with supervisors of project functional groups—contractors/vendors, engineering, construction, and project management.
