Pets of Older Persons (POOPSWA) – Attadale WA
We need volunteers for the Southern suburbs. Anyone over 18 can apply to become a POOPS volunteer. Volunteers are typically animal lovers or pet owners, many with experience in human health or animal rescue services.
Volunteers must have a Working with Children Check or a Police Check, payable by the volunteer.
Responsibilities
* Dog walking – Assist elderly people who cannot walk their dog. Volunteers should manage time conveniently; no obligation to commit to regular walking times.
* Pet feeding – Feed pets while owners are in hospital or away for a maximum of two or three days. If longer absence, boarding will be arranged at the owner's expense.
* Transport – Provide transportation to/from local veterinary services for people who cannot drive or walk long distances.
* Admin – Help keep volunteers and clients organized; administrative support role.
Requirements
* Age 18 or older.
* Working with Children Check or Police Check.
* Willingness to use personal car for transport duties if required.
