Steel Fixing Foreman / Leading Hand – Brisbane

With over 30 years of combined industry experience and a team of 40+ skilled workers, we are known for our strong culture, high standards, and professional systems. As we move into an exciting growth phase in 2026, we're seeking experienced Steel Fixing Foremen / Leading Hands to join our leadership team on multiple 5+ storey developments across Brisbane.
The Role
This is a hands-on leadership position where you will:
* Lead and supervise steel fixing crews on commercial/high-rise projects
* Allocate labour and manage productivity to meet target hours
* Run daily pre-start meetings and maintain site compliance
* Read and interpret structural drawings with confidence
* Complete quality checks prior to engineer inspections
* Coordinate effectively with builders, engineers and other trades
* Maintain strong safety standards and housekeeping on site
You will be supported by an Operations Manager and structured admin systems — but we expect you to take ownership of your crew and your deck.

What You'll Need
We are looking for someone with strong, proven experience in this role. Specifically:
* 5+ years steel fixing experience in commercial or high-rise construction (more highly regarded)
* Demonstrated experience running crews and achieving productivity targets
* Strong ability to read and interpret structural drawings
* Excellent communication and site coordination skills
* Solid understanding of safety obligations and site compliance
Licences & Equipment:
* Construction Induction Card (White/Blue Card)
* Full Australian work rights
* Reliable transport
* PPE (steel caps, hard hat, long pants)
* Tools (nips, reel, belt, tape)
