About the role
Join the talented team at HIRECORP PTY LTD as a full-time Diesel Mechanic. HIRECORP is a leading provider of hire equipment including Air, Vac, Pump & Power. We specialize in sales and hire solutions for the construction, civil, mining and quarry sectors. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of a variety of diesel pumps, gensets and other related plant and equipment. Both on site and in our modern workshop in Tullamarine, VIC, you will work closely with our clients to keep their operations running smoothly.
What you'll be doing
1. Design and install of various hire equipment on site including diesel pump sets, hoses, gensets and other associated items
2. Diagnose, repair and maintain a range of diesel equipment
3. Liaise with clients to understand their service and repair needs
4. Maintain detailed records of all work performed
5. Ensure workshop tools and equipment are well-maintained
6. Comply with all relevant safety standards and company policies
What we're looking for
1. Formal qualifications in Diesel Plant Mechanic or a related mechanical trade preferred
2. Extensive experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in the hire industry. Experience with diesel pumps and gensets preferred.
3. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
4. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work to high standards
5. Effective communication skills to liaise with clients
6. A valid car driver's license is essential. A HR & forklift license preferred
7. A commitment to workplace health and safety
8. Australian work rights are essential for this position
9. This role sometimes requires travel to client sites for equipment installation and servicing
