Job Overview:
The Corporate Finance Assistant Manager, based in Australia, will assist CFO and financial controller to oversee financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and project evaluation and planning in the Renewable Energy industry. It supports project financing, tax equity structuring, and drives financial strategies to optimize the company's growth. A key responsibility will be the development and maintenance of project financial models for renewable energy projects across Australia and other regions. The position will also manage capital investments and provide strategic financial insights to executive leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management and Reporting
* Monitor cash flow and manage treasury operations, including investments, loans, and project financing.
* Collaborate with other finance team members, prepare project reports and presentations for board meetings, investors, and regulatory bodies.
2. Project Financial Modeling & Financing
* Develop and implement financial models for renewable energy projects in Australia and the broader region. This includes assessing project feasibility, structuring financing, and evaluating long-term profitability through key metrics such as cash flow analysis, internal rate of return (IRR), net present value (NPV), and sensitivity analyses, all of which will support strategic investment decisions.
* Assist in project financing and structuring tax equity financing deals and partnerships for renewable energy projects. Ensure compliance with Australian renewable energy tax credits and incentives, maximizing available benefits to the company.
* Collaborate with project teams to optimize the financing of renewable energy projects, ensuring alignment with cash flow projections and budget constraints.
* Provide financial analysis and due diligence for new project development and acquisitions.
3. Project financing
* Act as the central point of contact for project finance activities, including coordinating with banks, financial institutions, and potential investors. You will assist in reviewing term sheet, DD report, and other financing documents and ensuring that all terms align with our company's strategy and project needs.
* Ensure that all project financing activities comply with relevant regulations and assist in identifying and managing potential financial risks, particularly those related to loan terms.
4. Financial Strategy & Growth
* Work closely with the CFO and executive leadership to shape financial strategies, including capital allocation and long-term investment plans for renewable energy projects in Australia.
* Drive cost-efficiency initiatives, including operational cost analysis for energy projects, to optimize profitability.
* Assist in mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships, providing financial insights and risk assessment.
Requirements:
Education & Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Finance and Accounting, or related field (MBA/CPA preferred).
* Certification such as CFA, CPA (Australia), or ACCA is desirable.
* Candidates must have valid working rights in Australia.
Experience:
* Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in the renewable energy sector or energy industry.
* Strong experience with project financial modeling, project financing, and tax equity structures in the renewable energy space, particularly within the Australian context.
Skills & Competencies:
* Proficient in excel financial modeling.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills and learning abilities.
* Excellent communication abilities.
* Effective verbal and written communication skills in both English and Mandarin. (Fluent in written and spoken Mandarin is a necessary skill for this role due to frequent communication with our Taiwan headquarters.)
* Knowledge of the Australian renewable energy market, including solar, wind, or biomass, is a plus.
* Knowledge of AASB/IFRS and other relevant Australian financial regulations is a plus.
* Better understanding of Taiwan corporate regulation is a plus.
