Our client, a large Federal Government Organisation, whose focus is on foreign signals intelligence, military operations, cyber warfare and information security, are seeking the experience of Server Engineer.
Duties of the Server Engineer
* Design, implement and maintain Windows Server and Active Directory environments in support of migrating workloads to a new Active Directory Forest in a sensitive and high-availability environment, following all relevant policies and procedures;
* Design, implement and maintain VMware virtualisation infrastructure;
* Implement security remediation and uplift in accordance with the departments and Darwin based organisation's requirements;
* Implement and utilise various monitoring, vulnerability, and fault analysis tools to troubleshoot and optimize operating environments;
* Install, customise, and maintain Windows server operating systems and server hardware to meet client needs and in accordance with service level expectations;
* Diagnose and resolve complex technical problems in consultation with clients, staff, external service providers and vendors;
* Create documentation to support the Darwin based organisation's operating environments, including architecture and as-built-as-configured documentation;
* Work closely with the Darwin based organisation's stakeholders and systems owners across multi-disciplinary teams;
* Carry out duties in accordance with Darwin based organisation's safety, environmental and quality policies, safety principles, corporate values, and strategies.
Skills and Experience Required
* Ability to implement and manage Windows Server and Active Directory;
* Knowledge performing Active Directory migrations in high-availability environments;
* Demonstrated knowledge and experience implementing and managing VMware virtualisation infrastructure;
* High attention to detail with good communication skills with stakeholders and clients and experienced in technical writing;
* Ability to carry out duties in accordance with the Darwin based organisation's safety, environmental and quality policies and corporate values and strategies.
Desirable:
* Sound understanding of Information Management Infrastructure Library (ITIL);
* Familiarity with operational technology environments and their unique constraints;
* Industry certifications or equivalents: AZ-800 & AZ-801 / MCSA / MCSE / VCP-DCV.
