The Opportunity:
Futura Mining Services is currently seeking an experienced Maintenance & Asset Superintendent to join our team at the Wilton and Fairhill Mine Sites. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role is responsible for leading and coordinating all site maintenance activities. The Maintenance Superintendent will oversee the maintenance workforce contractors, ensure the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment, and drive reliability, compliance, and performance across both operational sites.
Duties will include:
* Lead, coach and support a maintenance team to deliver safe, efficient and reliable operations.
* Oversee daily and weekly maintenance planning, scheduling and execution for fixed and mobile plant equipment.
* Ensure all maintenance activities are carried out in line with statutory requirements, company policies and site SHMS.
* Monitor equipment performance, reliability trends and maintenance KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
* Manage breakdown response, fault-finding and root cause analysis, ensuring timely resolution and prevention of re-occurrence.
* Work collaboratively with Production team to optimise equipment availability and minimise downtime.
* Maintain accurate asset records, work orders, inspections and reports within the maintenance management system
* Identify cost-reduction initiatives while ensuring plant and fleet reliability is maintained or improved.
* Foster a strong safety culture through visible leadership
About You:
As the successful candidate, you will be a hands-on and solutions-focused maintenance leader with a strong commitment to safety, reliability, and operational excellence. You will provide clear direction and supervision to maintenance personnel and contractors, ensure the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment, and oversee day-to-day maintenance activities across site. You will understand how maintenance performance supports broader production outcomes, effectively prioritise work in line with operational demands, and ensure full compliance with all site safety standards, policies, and statutory requirements.
The above will be achieved and supported by:
* Demonstrated experience in mine site Maintenance environment
* Proven ability to plan and execute maintenance activities within budget and resources constraints
* Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, Word and CMMS's)
* Australian recognised Trade Qualification
* Comprehensive understanding of QLD Coal Mining Legislation and its application to the maintenance operations
* Strong knowledge of multidiscipline engineering and industry standard practices
* Strong leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and a professional attitude with the ability to build effective working relationships within a team oriented culture
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills and with the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team environment
* Strong commitment to safety and health, constantly demonstration an overriding focus on commitment on safe work practices and environmental responsibility
* Ability to identify, assess and implement effective business risk management and continuous improvement to increase maintenance performance
* Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage deadlines while remaining calm under pressure
* Current Standard 11 and Coal Board Medical
* Valid driver's licence and proof of right to work in Australia
* Successfully pass pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening
