Position Summary
We are seeking applications from manufacturing specialist to support our busy Workshop. This opportunity is also suitable for experienced Workshop technicians seeking to move into manufacturing/specialist pathway. This permanent/full time role will be based in our Jandakot facility.
This role provides technical support to manufacturing to ensure safe execution of work that meets engineering, quality, and productivity objectives. This position will focus on resolution of engineering issues due to insufficient details on drawings and in ERP system, standard work packages, work instructions and work processes in manufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities
Resolve issues with incomplete engineering documentation - missing parts on BOMs, wrong parts on BOMs, inaccurate / incomplete assembly drawings
Interface with Engineering to resolve engineering issues:
Review part and part prints in question for completeness – use of online systems required. Training on OII online systems to be provided.
Review parts in question using handheld measuring tools to determine if additional inspection is necessary.
Ensure operator/technician measures all dimensions in question and produces the appropriate report.
Coordinate with Engineering for approval to change parts.
Support the identification and creation of maintenance kits and repair kits for assets.
Support the development of maintenance parts lists for assets. Ensure parts lists are entered into ERP / Task Templates.
Standard Work
Support Manufacturing Engineering to create future state "Task Templates" based on acceptable Standard Work practices.
Support Manufacturing to identify the correct "Task Template."
Support Manufacturing Engineering to identify the correct "Task Template" for product families to streamline the selection of Task Templates for all future work.
Create and modify manufacturing routings.
Edit existing Standard Work procedures as improvements in productivity, quality, and safety are made.
Share improvements with sites worldwide to ensure productivity, quality, and safety is promoted to all locations.
Ensure all changes are documented properly and training is conducted.
Other Responsibilities
Assist with implementation of lean manufacturing principles across assigned work areas including 6S, Standard Work, MDI/QDIP boards, Visual management, Value stream mapping, benchmarking, Total Preventative Maintenance, Work cell design, inventory flow, and other Operational Excellence objectives.
Demonstrate and teach company policies on operating standards, safety, maintenance, quality, and cost control.
Review ECR, ECO, NCR, B.O.M, drawings to ensure design for manufacturability.
Lead Cost Improvement activities throughout assigned work areas.
Maintain good working relations, coordinate/ integrate with shop personnel, write reports.
Create and maintain metrics as needed.
Familiarity with OPG and/or SSR equipment.

SCM Manager
Frequent interfacing with Workshop Supervisor, SCM team and SCM Planner
Qualifications & Experience
Trade Qualification in Mechanical or Electrical. Or Engineering Degree/Diploma Equivalent.
Minimum 3-5 years' experience working in similar role.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite - Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ERP system.
Training or Hands-On experience in Operational Excellence fundamentals including 6S, Standard Work, Visual Management (desirable).
Knowledge of Oceaneering products, tooling and equipment.
