Our Employee-Facing Services Include:
* General protections claims
* Contract and deed negotiations
* Underpayment and redundancy disputes
* Flexible work arrangements
* Unfair dismissals, discrimination, sexual harassment, and workplace bullying
Our Employer-Facing Services Include:
* Awards and enterprise bargaining
* Minimum rates of pay and payroll compliance
* Health and safety, including psychosocial hazard duties; elimination of all forms of discrimination and prevention of sexual harassment
* Employment contracts, workplace policies, and procedures
* Managing ill/injured employees, workplace investigations, and performance management
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide expert verbal and written advice on a diverse range of employment law matters
* Draft and manage Fair Work Commission and Australian Human Rights Commission applications, including preparing for and attending reconciliation conferences
* Prepare court applications and attend case management hearings and small claim proceedings
* Draft key legal documents such as witness statements, affidavits, and outline of argument, further and better particulars
* Negotiate and advise on settlement agreements
* Work proactively with businesses to identify and resolve employment law risks and implement proactive strategies to resolve these
Skills and Experience:
* Bachelor of Laws (or equivalent) and a current NSW, QLD or VIC Practicing Certificate
* 3+ years of post-admission experience in employment law
* Experience in union or employer association roles highly regarded
* Established research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
* Proven ability to manage client relationships, legal matters, and costs
* Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities
* For senior practitioners, demonstrated experience in managing files and supervising junior lawyers
