Job Description
This is a role that will see you learn hands on while studying a degree by correspondence. You will have the benefit of working in an office with staff who have also completed the same study and who are fully committed to helping you become a Civil Designer.
You will assist in the engineering design and documentation for exciting and important infrastructure projects in our region. You will get exposure to projects involving roads, bridges, cycleways, drainage, water infrastructure and renewable energy.
How you’ll make a difference
* Help other drafters/designers develop Engineered sketches/ drawings for various Clients using software such as Autodesk and Bentley packages
* Help undertake quantity calculations for projects to aid cost estimating.
* Undertake field site visits to aid design deliverables.
* Be part of multidisciplinary teams delivering project outcomes.
* Study externally through the University of Southern Queensland Australia (USQ) or Central Queensland University (CQU) an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering (4 year part time course) – Paid for upon successful completion!
Cairns is one of seven AECOM Queensland based offices.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone that is keen to kick start their career in civil design, that has the drive and motivation to learn from our professional and technical teams, and has the aptitude to apply their studies to real-life work.
The educational requirements for this role are that you have completed, or are currently completing, your Year 12 studies, and will meet the minimum enrolment requirements into an Associate Degree in Civil Engineering through the University of Southern Qld.
