The Role
Lesmurdie SHS is seeking to appoint a motivated and passionate Student Support Officer.
The Student Support Officer will ideally need to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills. They will also be required to facilitate identified programs and maintain comprehensive records. A collaborative and consultative approach is highly desirable. Prior experience supporting students through mentoring, mediation, counselling, school engagement, assessing levels of risk, interagency links and case management will be considered favourably. Gate Keeper currency is important and experience in facilitating programs such as, but not limited to, Rock and Water and Drumbeat would be beneficial.

* be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.

* Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start.

* Demonstrated effective planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities within timelines.
* Demonstrated good research, conceptual and analytical skills, including the ability to identify problems and provide solutions.
* Demonstrated skills and experience in working with individual or small groups of students experiencing difficulties.
* Demonstrated knowledge of the youth sector, particularly local organisations and services.
