Regional HSE Manager Job Summary
This role is a key leadership position within ALS's Geochemistry business, responsible for ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management across Australasia. As a Regional HSE Manager, you will provide strategic guidance and support to management teams, driving compliance with legislation, ALS global standards, and risk frameworks. This includes leading a team of HSE professionals, building capability, driving ownership, and maintaining a culture of safety and accountability.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be an experienced HSE professional with a strong track record in managing risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysis. You will have a collaborative leadership style, supporting operational teams and influencing stakeholders at all levels. Your experience in laboratory environments, chemical handling, or mineral processing is highly desirable.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide expert advice and support to management on HSE issues
- Direct and coordinate efforts of your team across Australasia to ensure aligned HSE strategies
- Maintain a strong compliance culture and awareness of key business risks
- Chair National HSE meetings and drive communication with managers to meet business needs
- Monitor the performance of the ALS safety program and develop content to improve the current system continuously
- Lead high-level incident investigations, implementing robust root cause analysis and effective risk mitigation strategies
Requirements:
- Extensive experience in HSE management, including risk assessment, incident investigation, and root cause analysis
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in HSE, Risk Management, or a related field
- Proven experience leading and mentoring diverse HSE teams across multiple sites
- A collaborative leadership style that supports operational teams
