About the Role:

Our client, a reputable shopping centre landlord, is seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Manager who will place a priority on understanding and managing the built environment to ensure compliance, identify risk, operational efficiency and identification of opportunity to improve outcomes for the owners, contractors, tenants and customers.


The purpose of the role is to ensure that the built structure and retail environment creates a safe and optimized retailing experience between customer and retailer. This is achieved through considered and detailed management plans that cover all aspects of the building and operational management and customer touchpoints.


This role is ideal for someone from a facilities, construction, or property background who is ready for their next challenge in the property sector.


The successful candidate will lead the facilities team while working closely with contractors, consultants and the broader centre management team, bringing a keen eye for understanding the built environment, managing operational efficiency and technical maintenance that enhances the shopping centre experience making sure the built environment is compliant and well-maintained.


Key Duties:
* Identification, Reporting and Mitigation of Risk
* Operating the Asset – understand, plan, deliver and document all elements of the built environment
* Manage Asset Strategic plans, safety plans, disaster management plans and operational plans
* Budget planning and management of all operational spend
* Capital Expenditure Delivery
* Inspecting and Maintenance of the Asset
* Contract and Contractor management
* Providing leadership to support staff
Skills and Experience:
* Previous experience in shopping centre or large-scale facilities management equivalent
* Strong technical experience and knowledge across all building services e.g. HVAC, mechanical, electrical, cleaning and security services
* Proven leadership ability managing and mentoring a small team
* Knowledge of building infrastructure and systems
* Problem-solving and analytical abilities
* Capacity to work flexible hours, including weekend work when required
* The know how to build strong relationships with all stake holders
Please note: This role is focused on the built environment, and we are looking for someone with strong building related experience.
