We are a specialist paediatric dental practice dedicated to helping our child and adult patients receive care in a quiet, calm and positive environment. We see children from birth, and extend to seeing adults with special needs. Our practice is preventively focused, with our goal being to help children develop skills to have treatment in the dental chair.
We are looking for a professional, and well organised, experienced dental assistant, with a Cert III in dental assisting as a minimum. The role will include being able to manage administrative tasks and other practice tasks when patients are not present. There will be a need to register to assist with surgery at Buderim Private Hospital, so a cert III is necessary for that role.
The successful candidate should be able to work independently and respect the needs of our largely neurodiverse patient population. We complete treatment in our rooms using nitrous oxide sedation and under general anaesthetic at Buderim Private Hospital. There is a need to provide a calm and relaxed environment, so organisation and preparation are key to positive outcomes in these situations.
Work hours are generally from 7.30am until close which is generally prior to 5pm on clinical days. There are times when emergencies may happen that cause regular hours to be different. Work hours will generally be four days per week, as we don't normally work more than 4 days for any staff member.
Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the opening and closing of the practice following industry guidelines, setting up and preparing in advance for procedures, learning the computer system (Exact) and understanding and working on the computer server and accessing patient records. We use technology for most aspects of administrative and clinical care so having good computer and typing skills are important.
The hourly pay rate will reflect your experience and will be adjusted accordingly.
