**About the Role**
This role processes incoming, outgoing and internal telephone calls and ensures that calls are directed to the appropriate destination. The role also manages the calling**of emergency codes and management of alarms. The role also includes an enquiries and reception function, providing in person assistance to patients, carers, staff and community**.**
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Process incoming, outgoing and internal telephone calls to the Ballarat Base Hospital switchboard and QE switchboard (after hours).
- Manage the public announcement of emergency codes and assist the incident manager with communication.
- Respond to in person enquiries from patients, carers, staff and community at the main Enquiries desk, providing directions and assistance as required.
**Skills & Experience**:
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment, prioritise tasks and manage challenging interactions in a calm, qualified and compassionate manner
- A team player, able to work collaboratively and cooperatively with others in the team
- Previous reception or clerical experience
- Requirement to work day, evening and weekend shifts
