Your role as a Pathology Courier As a Pathology Courier, you will be responsible for picking up and transporting pathology samples, specimens, blood/blood products, X-rays, vaccines, and clinical waste across various locations such as medical centres, collection centres, nursing homes, hospitals, and veterinarian surgeries, for delivery to laboratories.
You will ensure a safe and efficient process by managing 30+ stops per day, playing a crucial role in providing quality health services to our communities.
Your key responsibilities will include: Pick-up and delivery of pathology samples, specimens, blood/blood products, X-rays, vaccines, and clinical waste to and from referring customers Liaising between referring medical practitioners and the Medical Liaison Officer regarding store orders Preparation and delivery of reports and stock control in the main laboratory Maintaining patient confidentiality and integrity Following operating procedures for correct specimen coding and documentation Adhering to policies, procedures, Work Health and Safety, and Quality Assurance processes About you Valid open Australian driver's license with an excellent driving record Ability to work various shifts, including weekends and public holidays Strong interpersonal and written communication skills Excellent time management skills, capable of managing up to 30 stops per day Physical ability to handle equipment weighing 10-15kg Ability to follow instructions and use initiative for decision-making Previous courier experience is highly advantageous Hold or be willing to obtain a Working with Children Check Australian citizen, permanent resident, New Zealand citizen, or hold a valid work visa Benefits and Wellbeing As part of Healius, you will have access to benefits including:
