Casual Technical Writer | Darwin | Energy Sector
We're currently seeking a Technical Writer for some casual work with a government-owned organisation in the Energy sector based in Darwin.
This is a short-term, part-time contract starting ASAP through to 20 March 2026, with the possibility of extension or longer-term opportunities. Ideal for someone who enjoys structured writing work and wants steady, low-complexity assignments on a flexible schedule.
Immediate start to 20th March 2026 (may extend longer)
Darwin-based office
2 days per week (16 hours) can be worked around your schedule.
Hourly rate ($ $56.53 per hour) + super
The role:
Work with existing procedures that have been reviewed and red-lined by subject matter experts, incorporating edits and correctly formatted documents.
Developing and maintaining templates and the structure of manuals and documentation.
Liaising with operations staff, production managers, and quality control teams to produce consistent, quality-controlled documentation.
Ideal experience:
Experience producing technical documentation, preferably in line with industry standards or government procedures.
Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and compliance
Desirable:
Experience working in energy, utilities, or similar technical industries.
Familiarity with document control systems or technical writing standards.
