Project Lead
The position of Project Lead is a pivotal role within our organization. This individual will oversee the overall strategy, coordination, and execution of specific projects ensuring alignment with our strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and Supervise - Oversee the workings of projects, manage resources, and monitor progress.
2. Contractual/Commercial Management - Ensure the contractual/commercial aspects of a project are managed effectively, including drafting, manufacturing, erection, and administration.
3. Client Liaison - Foster strong relationships with clients, builders, engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to resolve issues arising from job requirements and RFI's.
4. Risk Assessment - Collaborate with team members to identify and mitigate risks at handover meetings.
5. Negotiation and Sub-Contractor Management - Negotiate sub-contractor arrangements and pricing for outsourced services, ensuring compliance with purchasing procedures and obtaining authorization from senior management.
6. Budget Monitoring - Monitor budget requirements, updating the budget as orders are issued, variations received, and progress claims made.
7. Specification Requirements - Ensure all specification requirements are met, including architectural, engineering, and drafting standards.
8. Drawings and Communication - Allocate, issue drawings to nominated external organizations, and address queries in a timely manner.
9. Meetings and Collaboration - Organize and attend meetings with relevant departments to ensure all areas are informed of project requirements.
10. Contract Administration - Carefully read, complete, collate, and address concerns regarding contracts received from clients.
11. Maintenance of Records - Maintain accurate records, including drawing registers, RFI registers, and variation registers.
12. SWMS and Quality Planning - Work collaboratively with the WH&S Department to develop Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and Quality Plans for direct employees.
13. Project Milestones - Establish project milestones and invoicing points, tracking cost against budget requirements.
14. Weld Test and Surface Treatment Requirements - Determine and implement weld test and surface treatment requirements as necessary.
15. Erection Method and Safety - Establish the erection method for each project, ensuring SWMS requirements are met, and contractors provide their own SWMS documents.
16. Subcontractor Compliance - Ensure subcontractors adhere to rules, regulations, and procedures.
17. Issue Shop Drawings and Approval - Issue shop drawings for approval and fabrication, and provide bolt/purlin listings to purchasing.
18. Job Completion - Sign off on completed works and ensure the scope of works is updated as required throughout the project term.
