Work with a team of dedicated professionals
The Supply Chain Manager is responsible for leading the strategy, coordination and optimisation of CMRIs end-to-end supply chain including day-to-day management of suppliers, procurement, logistics, as well as asset lifecycle for high value equipment and shared equipment to ensure operational alignment, compliance, efficiency, waste minimisation, value for money and cost control. Team members who report to the Supply Chain Manager contribute to purchasing, logistics as well as receival, maintenance and disposal of equipment. We are looking for a Supply Chain Manager to join our team to:
* Set and execute CMRI's supply chain strategy aligned to research needs, compliance, and value‐for‐money; drive continuous improvement.
* Lead end‐to‐end procurement for consumables, services, and scientific equipment: sourcing/tendering, negotiation, contracting, renewals, and cost management.
* Build strategic supplier relationships; monitor performance against quality, safety, delivery and pricing; lead escalations and corrective actions.
* Own central stores and logistics operations: receiving, inventory accuracy (cycle counts/replenishment), catalogue/ordering, and pick‐pack‐dispatch.
* Forecast demand and optimise stock levels; analyse spend and usage trends to inform decisions and reduce waste.
* Manage the full asset lifecycle for high‐value and shared equipment: business cases, procurement, barcoding/commissioning, preventive/reactive maintenance, calibration/certification, and repair/replace/disposal decisions.
* Coordinate across Building, Finance, IT, Safety, and Ethics amp; Governance to ensure safe, compliant flows of biological/chemical/radiological materials and lab support services.
* Embed compliance and risk management across processes, including SDS/chemical registers, and audit‐ready documentation.
* Contribute to budgets and 5‐year capex forecasts; maximise value within constraints and promptly flag risks.
* Support sustainability outcomes—track/report waste diversion and inputs to ESG reporting.
* Participate in emergency response (ECO Warden/on‐call) and support business continuity planning.
* Provide backup coverage for purchasing/logistics roles and assist with institute events.Exercise delegated financial authority and manage requisitions/POs, order consolidation, and cost coding in line with policy.

What can you bring to this role?
* Degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience).
* Demonstrated leadership of an end‐to‐end supply chain function with measurable improvements to fulfilment, inventory risk and total cost of ownership (TCO)
* Strong data management and analysis capability (dashboarding, scenario modelling and root‐cause analysis)
* Proven supplier negotiation and contract management achievements (realising savings, effective SLA design and enforcement)
* Experience in regulated environments (dangerous goods and cold chain)
* Experience driving safety, process, quality and/or sustainability improvements
* Demonstrated adherence to ethical and unbiased sourcing
