Nimrod Resources hold multiple exploration projects across the highly underexplored southern Thomson Orogen and northern Lachlan Orogens near Bourke, NSW. In recent years Nimrod have become increasingly active, completing extensive exploration field campaigns and increasing their ground holding.
Nimrod is seeking applicants who have a passion for Greenfields Exploration and a drive to work in the conceptual geology space and expand their technical geology skills. The applicant should enjoy and be willing to undertake campaign based remote area work, to support Nimrod open up a new exploration search space in NSW. This role is being advertised as a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract, however the potential exists for an ongoing role and growth opportunities within Nimrod.
About the Opportunity
Reporting to the Exploration Manager, the Exploration Geologist will play a key role in supporting exploration and drilling programs across the Company's NSW Greenfields exploration projects. Collaborating closely with the broader team, you will play a key role across fieldwork, technical interpretation and operational coordination, contributing to the advancement of exploration activities. The position offers exposure across a broad range of exploration activities including early-stage exploration work, drilling programs, data interpretation, data management, technical and statutory reporting and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
* Supporting the planning and delivery of exploration programs, including mapping, sampling, geophysics and drilling
* Contributing to target generation through interpreting geological, geochemical and geophysical data in 2D and 3D
* Participating in field campaigns, including contractor coordination and logistics, ensuring safe and efficient operations
* Supporting land access and building stakeholder relationships
* Validate (QAQC) and manage exploration data
* Undertake technical, statutory and compliance reporting as required
About You
* Tertiary qualifications in Geology (honours or postgraduate qualifications advantageous)
* Minimum of 5 years' experience in supervision and execution of exploration programs, including drilling
* Experience with gold and copper systems, ideally across varied geological environments
* Strong skills in data analysis, geological interpretation and target generation
* Working knowledge of GIS platforms and geological databases
* Effective communication and stakeholder engagement skills
* A proactive, practical and tactile approach to exploration with the ability to work both autonomously and within a cooperative team
* Current Australian driver's licence and full Australian working rights
* Availability to undertake remote area field work on a campaign basis (this may include camping and cooking)
* A genuine passion for exploration with a strong desire to make an economic discovery

About Nimrod Resources
Nimrod Resources is an unlisted public, junior mineral exploration company, well established in undertaking greenfield exploration in the Bourke, NSW region. In early 2025, Nimrod diversified their funding avenues on their NSW tenement portfolio by entering an exclusive binding Option, Farm-in and JV agreement with an ASX listed junior exploration Company, who can earn up to 75% interest in the Byrock Project. Based on encouraging aircore results achieved during the Option Period, the ASX listed Company have opted to progress to Stage 1 of the Farm-In, with Nimrod Resources continuing as Project Operator. Nimrod Resources have become increasingly active, completing extensive exploration campaigns, increasing their ground holding and are now poised for significant growth.
