At Rocket Lab, the Operations Manager ensures that the business runs smoothly, efficiently, and in alignment with our strategy and values. This role is the glue between teams, clients, and leadership, keeping operations clear, proactive, and purpose-driven. The Operations Manager will foster cohesion across teams, streamline processes, and maintain strong client relationships while safeguarding the health, culture, and long-term goals of the business.
Key Responsibilities
 * Act as a trusted point of contact for teams and clients, bringing clarity to complex situations.
 * Develop and refine processes that keep us efficient and proactive, delivering projects on time, on budget, and with engaged teams.
 * Drive structured onboarding and ongoing client experience: check-ins, milestone demos, and regular alignment with leadership.
 * Partner with Team Leads to provide guidance, strategic advice, and feedback—helping them succeed and enabling courageous decisions on projects.
 * Collaborate with leadership and the wider team when needed to move the business forward.
 * Oversee operational pillars such as People & Culture, Legal, and Sales—ensuring each contributes value to the whole.
 * Play an active role in sales and pitch processes (including RFP/RFTs), ensuring our proposals demonstrate clarity, value, and strategic thinking.
 * Build genuine, long-term relationships with clients—acting as a strategic partner across product roadmaps, financial discussions, and overall growth.
 * Proactively support retention by showing care for both new and established client relationships.
 * Shape and lead conversations around budgets, profitability, and investment decisions; ensure projects align with business objectives and financial health.
 * Manage capacity planning and resourcing, balancing recruitment and allocation to keep delivery smooth and sustainable; anticipate needs and prevent bottlenecks.
 * Embed Rocket Lab's culture and values into processes, decisions, and everyday interactions; regularly evaluate tools and relationships to ensure value.
 * Partner with leadership on long-term planning and ensure clarity of goals and operational strategies to achieve them; highlight risks, surface opportunities, and propose solutions.
 * Ensure teams are aligned, engaged, and performing at their best; clients feel supported, understood, and confident in Rocket Lab; operations run proactively.
