Unidex actively recruit for all areas in the healthcare field specialising in Disability Services, Support Services and Allied Health.The Role:Our participant is a 57 year old male requiring 24/7 support suffered from a spinal cord injury and a hypoxic brain injury due to a near drowning experience. He enjoys spending time at the beach and has an interest in surfing and mountain hiking.Requirements:Due the complexity of the participant, successful candidates must have experience with bowel therapy, catheter management and hoisting OR be willing to learn these skills.Roster:The current care plan covers a 24/7 roster, the current shift times requiring covering are:Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday shift available: 4:00PM-10:00PM+ 10:00PM-06:00AM (in-active sleepover) + 06:00AM-10:00AMThe above listed shift is one whole shift and cannot be seperated.Pay rates are:Day - $40.00 p/hAfternoon - $44.00 p/hSat - $56.00 p/hSleepover Allowance - $100 fixed rateDuties:Personal care; washing, drying, dressing & groomingAssistance with bowel therapy (Peristeen – training will be provided)Daily skin checksPressure wound managementAssistance with domestic tasks including cleaning, meal preparation & feedingAssistance with daily Health & Rehab exercisesCommunity access + rehab appointmentsSkills & Experiences:Experience with spinal cord injuries / brain injury or other high complex care participantsExperience with catheter managementBowel therapy (Peristeen – training will be provided)Pressure injuries & wound managementAustralian Driver License is a MUSTConfidence to drive wheelchair accessible van (desired)Current National Police ClearanceCurrent Working with Children’s CheckNDIS Worker Screening CheckFirst Aid & CPR CertificateNDIS Worker Orientation Module and Supporting Effective Communication ModuleMedication Administration Training (must)Advanced Bowel Management - Peristeen Training (must)Reliability with a proactive and positive attitude is very important to the participantPlease note: two current references are requiredIf you meet the above criteria and are interested in the role, hit the "Apply" button now.
