Our Hotel
Bayview Geographe Resort is nestled on 27 acres of peaceful beachfront land, Bayview Geographe Resort provides an ideal coastal retreat along the shores of Geographe Bay. Offering direct access to the beach and a variety of accommodation options—from studios to 1, 2, and 3 bedroom villas.
At Bayview Geographe Resort we are dedicated to delivering exceptional guest experiences and maintaining high operational standards.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and dynamic Assistant Financial Controller to join our us, support our Finance team, and help ensure requirements are always met. This role is based at our sister property The Sydney Boulevard Hotel. The role will report to the General Manager of the Bayview Geographe Resort and our Regional Director of Finance based in Sydney.
Job Description
What you will be doing/ Key Responsibilities
Duties
· Partner with Department Heads to implement cost-effective strategies that improve departmental and overall hotel profitability.
· Execute and/or oversee Payroll, Accounts Receivable, credit approval, debt collection, cash handling, and cash flow management across the hotel complex.
· Ensure all financial policies, internal controls, audits, and Accor standards are consistently applied and complied with.
· Monitor and reconcile all ledgers, balance sheet accounts, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable.
· Authorise outgoing payments, ensure timely owner payments, and manage supplier credit limits.
· Ensure payroll procedures are accurate, compliant, and aligned with hotel policies.
· Develop, streamline, and monitor financial systems and procedures.
· Oversee insurance matters and implement debt recovery procedures.
· Prepare and manage annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, and monthly departmental forecasts.
· Provide accurate, timely financial and statistical reports to General Managers Accor, and Owners.
· Assume the responsibilities of the other members of the finance team when in their absence. This included assistance to the finance team at our sister property, The Sydney Boulevard Hotel.
Reporting & Analysis
· Compile and deliver weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and management reports in line with Accor guidelines.
· Prepare key reports including operating statements, cash flow forecasts, revenue reports, wage analysis, market and segment analysis, and year-end audit support.
· Ensure accurate night audit procedures and revenue reporting in collaboration with Front Office Managers.
Financial Performance
· Assess the financial impact of all activities on Accor and the hotel complex.
· Establish processes and reporting that support key financial objectives.
· Manage departmental budgets, monitor expenditure, and report variances or concerns.
Qualifications
· Tertiary qualification in Finance and/or Accounting.
· A minimum of 3 years' previous supervisory or management accounting experience in a similar position within a large organisation.
· Experience with Payroll PAYG, GST, payroll Tax, Workers Compensation, BAS preparation Accounts Payable, and Superannuation.
· Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
· An ability to understand and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
· Demonstrated ability to coach, mentor, develop and inspire teams.
· Demonstrated business acumen with the ability to make sound decisions and understand commercial implications.
· Ability to think strategically and plan on a mid to long term scale.
· Strong personal integrity.
· Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate with all levels of team members.
· Flexible and able to embrace and respond effectively to change.
