About the Role
As a support worker, you play a vital part in helping individuals with disabilities achieve their goals. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a real difference in people's lives.
Support workers provide assistance with daily living activities, transportation, and respite care. They work closely with clients, their families, and other care team members to ensure seamless support.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy. A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification is required, along with relevant experience working with people with disabilities.
A Certificate II or IV in Individual Support is highly regarded, but not essential. The successful applicant will be passionate about delivering exceptional support services that enable clients to live independently.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist clients with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene.
* Transport clients to appointments and outings.
* Offer respite care to clients and their families, providing much-needed breaks and relief.
* Maintain accurate records of client care plans and progress.
Requirements:
* A minimum of high school or equivalent qualification.
* Certificate II or IV in Individual Support or willingness to work towards completion (highly regarded).
* Lived experience or paid experience working with people with disability.
* Ability to work varied shifts, including day shift, night shifts, sleepovers, and weekends.
* Strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its guidelines.
* Basic care and first aid skills.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
