The Role
An exciting opportunity exist for an experienced Integrated Logistics Manager Project / Product Manager to join the Satellite Communications (SATCOM) Systems Program Office within Space Systems Branch to work on a variety of SATCOM Narrowband and Wideband sustainment communications capability for the Australian Defence Force (ADF).
The ILS Manager Sustainment is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex materiel logistics and contract management work within an integrated workforce. They will require an in-depth knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. They will exercise a considerable degree of independence and perform a leadership role and is accountable to lead and manage a range of human and physical resources and exercise the associated people and financial delegations.
They will have in-depth knowledge of Materiel Logistics or Project / Product Management and be responsible for the development, implementation, compliance and review of policies and procedures.
About our Team
Space Systems Branch acquires and sustains SATCOM systems, and is a trusted advisor of SATCOM systems for the Australian Defence Organisation. The team comprises professionals from various disciplines including project management, engineering, commercial, and logistics. This multi-disciplinary team is composed of highly skilled and motivated Australian Public Service, Australian Defence Force and contracted personnel. The team works from Brindabella Park offices in Canberra and maintains close collaboration with other parts of Defence and other Government Agencies.
Our Ideal Candidate
SATCOM SPO are seeking a skilled, experienced and dedicated EL 1 – ILS Manager – Sustainment.
The ideal applicant will be able to demonstrate:
* Demonstrated record in a Sustainment and/or Project Management environment
* Demonstrated capacity to think strategically and develop plans and processes to enhance the achievement of business outcomes
* Highly developed communication skills, self-drive, and initiative with the ability to influence others to achieve tasks and business objectives
* Strong commercial and business acumen and a demonstrated understanding of the Defence Industry sector in Australia
* Contract management experience (desirable)
* Experience managing multidisciplinary teams (desirable)
Key attributes and experience we are looking for:
* Demonstrated experience in the planning, governance, management & assurance of ILS or Materiel Logistics in a Sustainment environment or equivalent in Project Management;
* Excellent interpersonal skills, sound technical verbal and written communication abilities;
* An innovative and adaptive thinker
