Be a part of the Local Council as a Parks Maintenance Team Member, work within a team environment using a range of horticultural, parkland and maintenance skills to maintain the Council's open space assets.
- 2-month contract (with possible extension)
- 8:30am-5pm Monday to Friday
- 38 hours per week
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- General knowledge of native and exotic plants, environmental weeds, and their management
- Select and operate appropriate equipment and machinery for designated tasks, in the most productive manner according to agreed work practices, including but not limited to tractors, right on mowers, utilities, tow trailers, small motorised equipment.
- Lifting bags of Sokerol, grass seed, fertiliser and other products required for open space maintenance10-20kg.
- Using manual tools - including but not limited to wheelbarrow, shovels, rakes, screeds.
- Using small plant - Wacker plates, chainsaws, brush cutters, etc
- Work without direct supervision.
**Requirements and Qualifications**:
- Victorian Drivers Licence
- Experience with small and medium horticultural equipment.
- Experience with herbicide use.
- Trade Certificate (Level 3) in Horticulture and/or relevant experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of vegetation management and maintenance and basic landscape and asset construction and maintenance
