We Are Key Assets Australia

Key Assets is a leading not-for-profit, children, family and community services agency, founded in Australia in 2007. We provide foster care & family services. Operating across all states, the ACT and Norfolk Island, our purpose is to achieve positive and lasting outcomes for children, families, and communities. To achieve that, we need people like you!

We pride ourselves on being inclusive and embrace and celebrate the diversity of all people within our communities. Our diversity helps us provide the best support possible to carers, families, children and young people and all of our external stakeholders.

A little about the role

As a Senior Social Worker within the Foster Care and Kinship Team, you will provide supervision and support to carers, Social Workers and Case Workers, ensuring children and young people receive safe, stable and individualised care that supports their wellbeing and long‐term outcomes.

Key responsibilities include:
* Providing supervision and coaching to team members and new starters (as required), supporting reflective practice, capability development and consistent application of the Key Assets Practice Framework
* Leading and supporting complex casework, working directly with children and young people, foster and kinship carers, and families in culturally responsive and trauma‐informed ways
* Coaching and supporting carers to build confidence, strengthen skills and behaviours, and maintain compliance with organisational and Departmental requirements
* Ensuring child safety and wellbeing remain the highest priority, including oversight of risk assessments, safety planning, critical incidents and adherence to child safe standards and legislation
* Contributing expertise in OOHC practice across carer assessments, placement matching, engagement with statutory authorities and promoting children's participation and voice in decision‐making

The base salary for this position is $100,776 - $105,340 per annum + super + vehicle & fuel card + mobile + salary packaging options up to $15,900 per annum.

This position is a full‐time, ongoing opportunity based from our Lyneham office.

About you

You are an experienced, reflective social worker who brings strong leadership capability, deep OOHC and child protection knowledge, and a commitment to developing others while delivering the highest standards of safeguarding and child‐centred practice.

We're looking for someone who:
* Holds a recognised qualification in Social Work, Community services or a related field
* Has substantial experience working with children, young people and families in OOHC or child protection settings, promoting safety, stability and positive development
* Demonstrates a strong understanding of child protection legislation, safeguarding frameworks, and government initiatives and agendas across the ACT.
* Communicates confidently and effectively with children, carers, colleagues and external stakeholders, building trust and collaboration in challenging and sensitive situations
* Is resilient, organised and values‐driven, with the ability to balance supervisory responsibilities, complex casework and administrative requirements in a dynamic environment
