About The Information Technology Department
The Information Technology Department provides specialist technology and project delivery support to enable QIMR Berghofer's internationally competitive research programs. The team works closely with researchers and professional services to deliver secure, efficient and innovative IT solutions that support the Institute's strategic objectives.
Role Purpose / Responsibilities
Reporting to the Cyber Security Administrator, this role supports the availability, confidentiality and integrity of critical systems by assisting with security operations, incident response, risk and vulnerability management, and the implementation of secure solutions. The position works closely with technical teams to deliver compliant, resilient systems, supports outcomes from penetration testing and audits, stays across emerging cyber threats, and promotes security awareness across the Institute.
About You
To be successful, you will have a solid understanding of computer networking, network security concepts, and Windows, Linux and macOS environments, with exposure to multiple technologies. You'll bring strong problem-solving skills, experience with cyber security frameworks, and the ability to clearly communicate technical security concepts to non-technical audiences. Experience in related IT roles such as networking, service desk, system administration or application support, with 1–2 years' experience, is desirable.

Remuneration
Remuneration: Salary range is $106,376 to $115,730 p.a. plus super and generous salary packaging. This is a full-time, fixed term appointment for 12 months.
