Electrical Systems Engineer Role
The position of Electrical Systems Engineer at Raytheon involves working alongside other Engineering Authorities to liaise with stakeholders, conduct engineering assessments, review and support the approval of Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs).
As a senior electrical engineer, you will demonstrate advanced technical theories, methodologies, principles, and expertise to provide innovative solutions to the current phase of the project. You must be alert to cost and schedule constraints.
The role provides an opportunity to learn, share knowledge, and be mentored on engineering methodology and processes. You will be enabled by the support of the Engineering Manager and enrolled in our national Engineering network. Working in a friendly team to meet the needs of our customer, the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), your role involves direct engagement with peers, Australian Defence Force personnel, capability partners, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct systems analysis to derive function, performance, and interface requirements to meet electrical safety parameters.
* Engage with System Design activities (including trade studies) to ensure that the design artefacts are compatible with the baselined product; consistent across all subsystems, delivering system design to meet performance requirements.
* Perform technical risk analysis as required in your work as the electrical engineer to support development and review of hazard logs, safety case arguments, and risk mitigation actions.
* Ensure assigned electrical systems/sub-systems are developed and implemented according to appropriate standards and procedures.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders; securing Raytheon's reputation as a trusted partner in delivering systems integration and mission support solutions to our customers.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Tertiary qualification in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Electronic, Communications, Computer Systems, Cyber).
* Hold tertiary qualifications and professional development sufficient to attain recognition as CPEng with Engineers Australia in a relevant engineering stream, including ability to attain RPEQ recognition.
* Experience in an engineering discipline, including involvement in one or more of the following engineering practices: Requirements Definition, Management, Analysis, Design, and Verification and Validation.
* Experience in effectively representing engineering professional services to both internal and external customers.
* Minimum 5 years of prior relevant experience (when a university degree is held).
* Practical to substantial knowledge of projects, programs, or systems relevant to the business with the ability to make enhancements and leverage knowledge in daily work.
* Experience in product configuration control.
* This position may require availability to travel when required.
* Eligible to obtain and maintain a NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
