About the role
This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic and dynamic psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team within the Chronic Pain Clinic. The role involves providing specialised clinical/health psychology assessment, educational support, and therapeutic intervention for adults experiencing persistent pain. You will explore the factors contributing to each client's pain condition and deliver evidence-based assessment, treatment plans and one-to-one and group-based sessions designed to improve quality of life.
About you
* Hold a Master's or Doctoral coursework qualification in Clinical/Health Psychology approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.
* Have full registration or eligibility for full registration as a Psychologist by the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA).
* Hold endorsement, be eligible for endorsement or be working toward endorsement with AHPRA as a Clinical/Health Psychologist.
* Demonstrated experience with adult persistent pain conditions characterised by high complexity, severity and co‐occurring conditions.
* Proven ability and commitment to work collaboratively with consumers, carers, multidisciplinary teams and external agencies.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct high‐quality psychological assessments and implement evidence‐based interventions consistent with best practice.
* Effective interpersonal skills, strong organisational and time‐management skills.
* Commitment to maintain up‐to‐date clinical and management knowledge through regular attendance at conferences, workshops or other professional development activities.
* Demonstrated commitment to reflective practice.
* For Grade 3 applicants – approved PBA Supervisor for higher‐degree placement and for the registrar programme and have five years' experience after attainment of post‐graduate qualification.
Health care workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID‐vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation Handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and the offer is conditional on being up to date prior to employment.
