Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role for a Regional Manager / Senior Building Certifier at Tecon Australia.
The role will typically involve performing building certification functions under the NT Building Act and acting as an Airport Building Controller under the Airports Act. In addition, the Regional Manager will assist the Director's in effective business management including workflows, budgeting, finances, resourcing and staff supervision / performance.
As a senior member of the office, we expect this individual to build strong working relationships with current and future clients. Valuing our position in the NT market, the successful candidate will play a key role in growing our business and service offering across the NT.
The position is based in the Northern Territory, with the possibility of some work from home.
Qualifications / Experience
* Tertiary Qualifications in Building Surveying
* Relevant accreditation in building surveying with AIBS (building certifiers)
* Previous experience in a building certification role (private or LGA)
* Knowledge of the National Construction Code and associated Australian Standards
* Knowledge of the PDI Act and Regulations
* Knowledge of the Airports Act and Airports Building Control Regulations (desired)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with team members and clients
* Ability to work independently and in a team
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Whilst building certifiers are the preferred candidates, Tecon are willing to accept applications from individuals from other disciplines where the candidate can demonstrate transferable technical expertise, a strong understanding of regulatory or compliance‑driven environments as well as value to the business.
