Senior Process Engineer - TailingsWeir Minerals - DivisionAustralia / The NetherlandsHybridThe Senior Process Engineer - Tailings plays a vital role in supporting the Divisional Technology – Technology and Process Innovation team globally through delivery of process engineering support.
Focusing primarily on tailings solutions, the role is responsible for flowsheet development, providing technical support, leading the creation of process engineering deliverables, application and selection tool development, supporting internal innovation, and evaluation of tailings technologies.The successful candidate will support the development of R&D test proposals, test plan development, the running of test work and piloting campaigns in the Weir Technical Centre (WTC) and on sites, and will also support the evaluation, reporting, and presentation of results.

Developing complex unit process models for tailings equipment and reporting on results on complex problems.Flowsheet development of tailings solutions and hydrotransport.Liaising with customers and internal teams on minerals processing development, project management, testing and innovation.Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:?Qualification in Engineering - Minerals Processing, Chemical Engineering (With a Minerals Major) or related discipline is required.Masters or PhD in minerals processing, tailings, or related discipline will be highly regarded.Chartered Engineering status is desired, but not essential.
At least 5-10 years work experience in similar role in tailings or mineral processing equipment and systems.
Tailings based process and solution development experience operation, design, consultancy - highly regarded.Experience of minerals laboratory and pilot plant investigations using mineral processes.Exposure or hands-on experience of plant operation and/or trouble-shooting operations.Founded in 1871, Weir is a world leading engineering business with a purpose to make mining operations smarter, more efficient and sustainable.
