The Role
Reporting to the Mineral Acid Plant Team Leader, your duties will include ensuring production volume and quality in accordance with set targets, performing housekeeping duties, resolving operating issues as they arise, handling maintenance notifications and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
You will also be responsible for:
- Conducting safe field operations
- DCS control room operations
- Participating in departmental safety programs
- Monitoring plant condition and intervening if necessary
- Performing minor maintenance on plant and equipment (if competent) and assisting in maintenance activities to aid in timely restart of the plant
- Participating in execution of start-up and shutdown of plant when required
- Phosphate Hill FIFO role roster – roster may vary during initial training (e.g., 8/6 days, 4/3 days, or 8/6D7/7N rosters)
About You
We are seeking individuals who embrace challenge and are committed to maintaining a high level of physical fitness while demonstrating a passion for continuous learning and development in Chemical Manufacturing.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess the following skills and attributes:
- Commitment to contributing to a safe, inclusive and high-performance culture
- Physically fit and able to perform daily manual handling activities
- Experience in a Process Technician role in a continuous processing environment, or a trade qualification and motivation to transition to an operations role
- Flexible, conscientious, quality oriented, and able to function effectively in a small, self-managed team
- Experience in chemical or gas processing industries is advantageous; boiler and turbine operational experience is a plus
- Proactive, results-driven with a strong focus on safety and quality; ability to build relationships across levels
- Excellent communication skills
