About The Role Are you passionate about ensuring the reliability and security of critical operational technology systems? Essential Energy is seeking an experienced Application Support Specialist to join our Digital Services division. In this role, you will manage the implementation and support of tools essential for electricity network access and operations. You will be instrumental in reducing technical debt, challenging the status quo, and continuously improving our day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities Include Acting as an operational technology champion, developing and delivering coaching, training, and support materials. Driving continuous improvement with a strong focus on automation using lean practices. Developing and maintaining efficient deployment, administration, operation, and maintenance procedures. Anticipating, investigating, and resolving incidents and problems in systems and services. Ensuring system availability and performance through qualitative and quantitative analysis and reporting. Participating in planning, analysis, and development of operational technology software and system architecture. Working within a 24x7 on-call environment to provide support services. About You You are an experienced technology professional with a strong background in application support and development environments. You excel in problem-solving and have a proactive approach to managing incidents and ensuring system reliability. Your technical expertise is complemented by excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
To Be Successful In This Role, You Will Have Extensive experience in application support or development environments. Strong understanding of software development lifecycle methods, ITSM management, and ITIL principles. Proficiency in fault resolution, problem identification, and technical skills related to supported applications. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare documentation and share outcomes with the business. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with strong time management and organizational skills. Experience in providing consulting services, managing third-party vendors, and supporting end users. A flexible and proactive approach, with the ability to work in a high-pressure support environment. Required Qualifications Advanced Diploma of Information Technology or demonstrated capability through past employment experience and/or relevant qualifications.
