About the role
Wolfram Limited is seeking an experienced and motivated Safety & Training Advisor to join our team at Mt Carlton Mine in Queensland. This 8/6 DIDO role is critical in ensuring our workforce has the knowledge, tools, and support needed to work safely every day.
You will be responsible for coordinating the development, implementation and maintenance of effective training and safety programs for Mt Carlton that aligns with Wolfram Limited standards and meets the statutory and operational requirements of the business.
What you'll be doing
* Developing, implementing and continuously improving the site health, safety and training management system
* Conducting workplace audits, inspections and risk assessments to identify and mitigate workplace hazards
* Deliver training and assess site personnel based on the TNA's to a consistent and high standard
* Research and liaise with training providers (RTOs) for external training requirements
* Provide coaching and mentoring to trainers/assessors so that a high quality of safety, training, assessment and record management is maintained.
* Investigating incidents and near-misses to determine root causes and implementing corrective actions using ICAM methodology
* Support IMT / EMT in the case of emergencies
* Collaborating with operational teams to ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety and environmental regulations
* Maintaining detailed records and reporting on key safety performance metrics
* Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Wolfram personnel, service providers, contractors and external customers
* Promoting a positive safety culture and advocating for continuous improvement
What we're looking for
* Certificate IV qualification in Occupational Health & Safety
* Certificate IV qualification in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 minimum)
* Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar safety advisory role within the mining or resources sector
* Proven track record of developing and delivering effective safety training programs
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage employees at all levels
* Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytical skills
* Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety and environmental legislation and regulations
* Proficient in the use of safety management software and data analysis tools
