About the Role
A rewarding opportunity for a passionate professional to join our team on a fixed-term full-time contract in Darwin. We are seeking an individual with expertise in supporting people living with dementia.
Key Responsibilities
* Support families, caregivers and clinical staff to understand how dementia impacts each individual through synthesising information from observation and written documentation.
* Equip carers and clinicians with modelling, coaching and development of resources including behaviour support planning to prevent and respond to behaviour changes.
* Develop reports that provide recommendations informed by evidence-based best practice and relationship-centred approaches to improve quality of life for people living with dementia.
* Undertake assessments to understand the holistic experience of individuals and their care networks.
* Work in partnership with colleagues to build capability across residential aged care and community sectors.
* Contribute to research, projects and programs to innovate and meet changing needs of the sector.
Requirements
* Expertise in supporting people living with dementia is essential.
* Experience in Australian residential aged care and/or community aged care.
* Strong communication and relationship building skills to share knowledge and support change at all levels.
* Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
* Empathy and patience are key attributes for this role.
* A relevant qualification in Allied Health, Nursing, Aged Care or Mental Health is required.
