We are a 189 bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit.We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.As Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislationDeliver evidence-based nursing careLiaise with the multi-disciplinary teamEnsure patient and staff safetySupervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient careProactively assess the perioperative nursing care provided to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual/patientComplete all required documentation in accordance with local and National PoliciesCurrent registration with AHPRA as a Registered NurseMinimum of 2 years' relevant post-registration qualificationsProven acute ward experience with gynaecology, urology, colorectal, paediatrics or general surgeryDemonstrated experience working within an acute surgical settingDemonstrated knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines.Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a supportive team.Demonstrated ability to advocate for and implement individualised patient-centred care;Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations;Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills.Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night dutyTo Apply: Please click on the 'Apply' button to be taken to our online application form.
