Project Worker - Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service

Your new team
Orygen Specialist Programs (OSP), a program of Melbourne Health, provides specialist mental health services for young people aged 15 to 25 and focuses on providing early intervention to young people with severe and complex mental illness.
The Custodial Forensic Youth Mental Health Service (FYMHS) team provides specialist youth mental health care in custodial settings including the Parkville and Malmsbury sites.
Your new role:
As part of the reforms associated with the Royal Commission into Victoria’s Mental Health System (2021), it was recommended that Orygen lead the development of a service plan to expand custodial mental health services within youth justice settings across Parkville, Malmsbury and pending Cherry Creek (2023) precincts. In your new role, you will:
4. Provide high level project management, leadership and expertise to support the service design and delivery of an enhanced model of care to be delivered by the Custodial FYMHS team.
5. Contribute to the development of Forensic Youth Mental Health services at Orygen
6. Work closely and collaboratively with the Stream Lead regarding the development of clinical policy and protocol regarding an enhanced and innovative model of care to support the delivery of specialist evidenced-based mental health services in youth justice custody and development of transition and care pathways.
7. Support Stream Lead, Program Manager and the Manager of Clinical Quality and Safety with integration of both Orygen specialist and primary clinical programs and policy, research and translation.
About You:
This is a multidisciplinary role and is open to Registered Psychiatric Nurses (Grade 4), Occupational Therapists, Social Workers and Psychologists (Grade 3). Administration Officers (GD5, YC92) are also invited to apply.
8. Relevant registration and qualifications (see attached position description)
9. Demonstrated experience in project planning, resolving design issues, coordinate and writing documentation ( policies, procedures, model of care) and undertaking consultation regarding model design and implementation
10. Experience in effective and successful project governance and delivery Comprehensive experience in the application of clinical practice, particularly in youth mental health as an Occupational Therapist, Social Worker, Registered Psychiatric Nurse or Clinical/Forensic Psychologist
11. Knowledge of the youth justice and/or criminal justice system and other relevant
