Description Principal Designer – Architect Scalable Data Solutions UNITE is our business-led, tech-enabled transformation program, focused on delivering “one best way” to simplify processes, systems, and technology. Our goal is to create a better experience for customers and make things easier for our people. What’s the role? Take charge as Principal Designer and lead the delivery of Data Migration as a Service (DMaaS) across the Unite program. Design scalable, secure solutions, establish governance and standards and guide teams through complex migrations that transform our technology landscape. Key Responsibilities Own the roadmap for Data Migration as a Service (DMaaS) and lead its delivery across all program lifecycle stages, including development, testing, dress rehearsals, production migrations and reconciliations. Design and implement robust ETL and ETLR solutions using Informatica, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and maintainability in data integration processes. Establish governance, processes, and standards, and design frameworks to support common non-functional requirements (NFRs), core functionality and reusability. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to development teams, offering expert advice on technical issues, solutions and best practices. Continuously evaluate and improve software development workflows and tools to enhance efficiency and quality. Ensure adherence to agreed standards, processes and regulatory compliance within Westpac. What do I need? Degree in Computer Science (or related field) with extensive experience in solution design and architecture. 10 years in IT with strong expertise in data integration, migration, and modeling. Deep knowledge of Informatica (IICS preferred) and ETL/ETLR solutions. Familiarity with DevOps, APIs, scripting, and enterprise solution design principles. Knowledge of Teradata, Data Lakes, databases, and streaming technologies (Kafka). Understanding of modern data processing and emerging technologies (AI conversant). Why join us?
