About the role:
Our laboratory performs research and testing for the construction industry. This can include QA testing, development materials, design and chemical analysis. Safety is a priority, and you would be expected to not only comply but contribute to a safe work environment. This is a great opportunity for someone who has a positive attitude, takes accountability for their work and likes to demonstrate initiative around quality and continuous improvement.
As a Laboratory Technician, you will:
1. Comply with and participate in an environment that promotes safety
2. Carry out routine testing of cement, concrete and related products
3. Conduct non-routine testing of cement, concrete and related products
4. Calibration and maintenance of equipment
5. Housekeeping within the laboratory
6. Conduct analysis as part of investigations
7. Interpret data generated and analyse and solve technical problems in conjunction with Team Leaders
About you:
To be considered for this role, you will have:
8. Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques or other related discipline
9. Proven success in a Laboratory role within a heavy industrial, construction, manufacturing or mining environment.
10. Ability to analyse and solve technical problems and interpret data
11. Previous experience in a construction laboratory would be advantageous
12. An understanding of laboratory instrumentation will be highly regarded
13. Good level of computer literacy, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite
