About the role
Ventia's contract with the Department of Justice is seeking a self-assured, motivated and decisive Resourcing Supervisor to achieve results through its people. This role is based at our busy Control Centre in Canning Vale, with regular travel required to metropolitan and remote locations within your areas of responsibility.
About you
Reporting directly into the Director – Workforce Planning, you are adept at managing staffing against constantly changing demands to ensure the day-to-day activities operate smoothly and with minimal disruptions. Therefore, you are adaptable and able to make decisions when there are last minute adjustments due to emerging priorities, schedule changes, scope changes or changes in the available resource pool due to factors beyond your control.
You are mindful of team dynamics and can resolve issues or conflicts while supporting team morale and ensuring continuity in the provision of efficient and effective resource services within the area of operations.
Key duties
* Perform quality and effective resource deployment to meet specified requirements in terms of skills and cultural fit
* Facilitate resource solutions to maximise results to deliver resourcing outcomes
* Strategically work with key business stakeholders to forecast demand and supply across the contract, while focusing on managing a consolidated view of resourcing metrics via reporting
* Lead Resource meetings to monitor employee utilisation and the management of resources
* Work with departmental Managers to mitigate resource concerns by reallocating or assigning additional resources
* Investigate, address and report on staff disciplinary matters and conflict resolution
* Operate strategically to identify supply and demand constraints and provide solutions to mitigate risk and for business improvement initiatives
* Participate in management meetings and other system related activities representing the Resource Management function
Skills and experience
* Relevant qualifications in a discipline related to Corrective Practice or Court Security
* Advanced computer literacy in MS Office products
* Proven resource management experience operating in a similar operational environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a collaborative management style and the ability to forge highly productive internal and external working relationships
* Excellent attention to detail, particularly when dealing with high volumes of data and reporting
* Previous exposure to managing staff disciplinary matters and resolving conflict
* Understanding of commercial considerations and imperatives in resource allocation and scheduling
* Demonstrated ability to deliver against multiple accountabilities
* Highly developed communication skills, both written and verbal
* Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
