Senior Power Systems Engineer Role Overview
The role of a Senior Power Systems Engineer is to work closely with developers, investors, network service providers and AEMO to deliver high-quality power system studies for projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for power system modelling and studies as well as grid connection support.
The Key Responsibilities
* Deliver high-quality power systems studies for projects, working closely with various stakeholders.
* Provide expert project management and support across a range of projects.
* Offer expert guidance on regulations, strategy, and technical solutions to address complex challenges in power systems and energy.
* Deliver power system studies including load flow, fault levels, network impact studies, system strength studies and grid connections compliance.
* Develop business opportunities by establishing external networks in various contexts.
* Provide guidance, coaching and mentoring to engineers across the discipline.
Requirements
* Bachelor's or higher degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
* Minimum 5 years proven technical experience.
* Demonstrated understanding of power system modelling with proficiency in electrical design and simulation tools.
* Project management capabilities and experience with energy systems and technologies.
* Stakeholder negotiation experience to ensure successful project completion.
* Experience working with network/distribution NSPs and knowledge of the NER.
* Experience with AEMO connections and GPS studies is advantageous.
