About Launceston Grammar
Launceston Grammar is a leading co-educational Anglican school in Tasmania, offering an exceptional education for students from Early Learning to Grade 12. With around 720 students and 150 staff, it is large enough to offer breadth, but intentionally small enough to ensure every child is nurtured, challenged, and inspired.
It seeks to shape young people of character—humble, quietly confident, and committed to making a positive impact in the world. As Australia’s oldest continuously operating independent school, its legacy is strong, yet its outlook is contemporary. Grammar is proud to offer an inclusive, values-based education underpinned by wellbeing, academic rigour, and opportunity.
From an Excellence rated Early Learning Centre to the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and strong STEAM pathway in the senior years, Grammar challenges its students to be deep thinkers, ethical citizens, and enthusiastic learners. The facilities continue to evolve in line with our strategic intent—with annual infrastructure projects that reflect our commitment to innovation, digital integration, and future-focused learning.
