Lead Sales Manager

We are seeking an experienced Lead Sales Manager to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of sales management and leadership, with a strong background in B2B sales.

* This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading national foodservice distributor, driving sales growth and managing high-performance sales teams.


About the Role

The Lead Sales Manager will be responsible for promoting company products and services, identifying new business opportunities, and maximizing existing accounts to achieve profitable sales growth.

Main responsibilities include:

* Developing and implementing sales strategies to drive revenue growth nationally;
* Managing a team of Sales Account Managers across SA, building the team to drive sales growth for the branch;
* Tracking sales-qualified leads, accurately forecasting territory performance, and capturing market intelligence using CRM;
* Developing State sales strategies to achieve sales growth across company products and services;
* Seeking, qualifying, and converting prospects in accordance with sales goals and targets;
* Assisting, coaching, and mentoring the sales team, providing advice and direction on products, prices, availability, customer queries, and growth opportunities;
* Reviewing and analyzing weekly and monthly reports (call cycle heat maps, sales/gross profit margin data, and account profitability);
* Preparing monthly Management reports and sales proposals;
* Successful tender preparation, execution, and integration of new accounts;
* Managing an account base, whether it be a new business or existing key accounts;
* Ensuring compliance standards for your sales team with the team KPIs.


Requirements

To succeed in this role, you will need:

* A proven sales management background with at least 3-5 years of experience in a B2B environment, preferably within the foodservice industry;
* Success in leading a team and having strong territory management skills with a structured approach to developing a customer base and progressing a sales process;
* Proven and demonstrable State level sales growth achievements;
* Demonstrated experience in tender preparation and execution;
* Demonstrable experience in managing high-performance sales teams;
* Ability to work collaboratively with key department heads and customers;
* Display persuasive and strong communication skills;
* High-level competency in Microsoft/CRM systems;
* Competent in building trust and customer loyalty, prioritization, and follow-up;
* Adaptability to market demands.
