Case Practice Support Worker – Child ProtectionCentral Highlands Area (Ballarat Office) Case Practice Support Workers are an integral part of the Child Protection workforce, playing a vital role in supporting the safety, wellbeing and development of children and young people.Based at our Ballarat office, this role provides practical, hands-on support to children and families involved in the Child Protection program, working closely with Child Protection Practitioners and partner services. About the RoleAs a Case Practice Support Worker, you will:Supervise access visits between children and their familiesTransport children and young people to appointments, placements, and servicesProvide practical, in-home support to familiesAssist case practitioners by undertaking a range of case support tasks that contribute to child safety and stability This is a dynamic and rewarding role that requires flexibility and a strong commitment to the wellbeing of children. Key RequirementsA current Employee Working with Children Checks (WWCC) card Valid driver's licence and willingness to travel is essentialCapacity to travel across metropolitan and country regions as requiredAbility to work evenings, early mornings and overnight, when necessaryWillingness to work additional hours on occasion to ensure the safety and wellbeing of childrenCultural Knowledge and Practice You will:Demonstrate a strong understanding of Aboriginal cultureHave knowledge of the legislative, policy and practice requirements relating to Aboriginal children, families and communitiesUnderstand and support the Aboriginal Child Placement Principle and the programs and initiatives that underpin its implementation within child protection practice What We're Looking ForStrong interpersonal and communication skillsA child-centred, trauma-informed approachAbility to work effectively with families experiencing vulnerabilityCommitment to culturally safe and inclusive practice Why Join Us?This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families, while being part of a supportive and professional team within the Central Highlands Child Protection program.If you are passionate about child wellbeing, value cultural respect, and thrive in a role that makes a real impact, we encourage you to apply.
