About the Role
Reporting to the Group WHS Manager, the WHS Business Partner is based in Port Lincoln, with travel required to other locations including Arno Bay and Adelaide. The role is responsible for the development, implementation, assessment and review of a comprehensive workplace health and safety management plan, and the delivery of initiatives that continuously build a ‘Safety First’ culture across all Yumbah Clean Seas Operations.
The WHS BP works closely with managers and employees to develop, drive and improve the health, safety, and environmental culture with a strong focus on processes and systems, ensuring compliance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Drive a positive safety-first culture through successful implementation of safe work practices, policies and procedures.
* Develop WHS policies, guidelines, and procedures to support the effective implementation of WHS practices across all functions of the organisation.
* Identify and develop strategies to eliminate or minimise WHS risks.
* Oversee the organisation’s Integrated Management System, Injury Management and CAR / Incident reporting.
* Submit recommendations for WHS workplace improvements and maintenance to enable continuous improvement in the safety of all facilities.
* Work closely with managers and employees to establish acceptance of responsibility and accountability for WHS.
* Identify and implement effective WHS training programs for managers, team leaders, new employees and those involved in high-risk hazard areas.
* Provide expert support for WHS consultative committees (e.g. Monthly WHS Meetings, Safety Walks, Toolbox Talks).
* Investigate accidents or incidents to discover root cause analysis and provide recommendations.
* Conduct periodic safety inspections, health and safety checks, to enhance a safe workplace.
Qualifications / Experience
* Relevant Workplace Health and Safety qualifications.
* In-depth knowledge of health and safety, and environmental regulations.
* Demonstrated abilities in health and safety management.
* Proven track record in improving safety leadership and culture.
* Minimum 5 years in a similar role.
* Familiar with ISO environmental practices and standards, environment regulations and PIRSA / EPA / AMSA standards.
* Strong oral and written communication skills.
* Excellent relationship building, leadership and analytical skills.
* Ability to handle multiple projects.
* Ability to assess and predict potential risks and recommend essential remedial measures in a timely manner.
* Ability to handle high stressed, emergency, fast paced environment.
* Energetic and self-motivated team player.
* High problem-solving skills.
* Knowledge of computers, various software programs and complex testing equipment.
