Our client is a large government department, seeking Senior Systems Administrator (Splunk) to manage and optimise a Splunk Enterprise platform providing actionable insights and supporting operational and security monitoring. You’ll act as a Splunk SME, ensuring platform stability, performance, and continuous improvement while mentoring team members. About the role You will: Manage the Splunk Enterprise environment, configuration, monitoring, upgrades, backups, and troubleshooting. Optimise platform performance, reliability, and security. Act as an escalation point for complex incidents and requests. Collaborate with stakeholders on system upgrades, testing, maintenance, and change releases. Support operational programs and projects to enhance and improve systems. Maintain documentation, processes, and reports to ICT standards. Mentor team members and foster a high-performance, knowledge-sharing culture. Key skills & experience Proven experience administering and troubleshooting Splunk Enterprise (SaaS). Strong knowledge of SPL, search optimisation, and dashboard development. Experience with HTML5/CSS for dashboards. Integrating Splunk with Microsoft 365, Azure, Entra, SCOM, and AWS. Excellent communication and collaboration skills with teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
