Details of Appointment

This is a permanent position working 73.50 hours per fortnight.

Benefits

Salary of $129,302 to $136,089 pa. Starting salary negotiable within range subject to experience in a similar role. Annual salary increases within this range in accordance with the Tasmanian State Service Award and Public Sector Union Wages Agreement.

Working Environment

Tasmania Prison Service (TPS) has prison facilities located at Risdon Vale, Hobart and Launceston in Tasmania. This position is based at Risdon Vale in Mary Hutchinson Women's Prison. The Risdon Vale site offers a corporate working environment without the hustle and bustle of city centre offices, free on‐site parking and access to the on‐site staff gym (or head across the road to Risdon Brook Dam for a walk at lunch time).

Duties
* Development and implementation of support frameworks for incarcerated women in line with contemporary best practice standards.
* Provide oversight and quality assurance to women's correctional practice through development, maintenance and monitoring of KPIs and service outcomes.
* Lead the development of community partnerships that will support the rehabilitation and reintegration of women post release.
* Provide oversight of the development of new programs and pathways that will support the progress of women and their families in the development of prosocial skills and vocational experiences.
* Develop support pathways that are unique to the requirements of female Correctional staff and are gender informed and contemporary.
* Develop recruitment and retention pathways that are designed specifically to ensure equity across the Correctional Officer development pathway and are specifically designed to promote the role of women in corrections.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders across custodial, therapeutic, health services and community partners to provide integrated person‐centred care.
* Promote and develop innovative, evidence‐based practice in the Mary Hutchinson Women's Prison (MHWP) and into community post release.
* The incumbent can expect to be allocated duties, not specifically mentioned in this document, that are within the capacity, qualifications and experience normally expected from persons occupying positions at this classification level.

Desirable Requirements
* A tertiary degree in a relevant discipline.
