About the role
* Maintain project and contract systems, financial data and information using electronic systems
* Prepare financial activities such as preparing journals and asset capitalisation, reconciliation and data collation
* Deliver high quality business support services to ensure efficient and timely program delivery
* Co-ordination of fleet vehicles
* Process financial and purchasing transactions in compliance with departmental policies and relevant legislation
* Manage and respond to customer enquiries professionally via phone, email and face-to-face
* Build and sustain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues and share financial/administrative information
* Organise workload to meet deadlines while ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial and administrative information
* Provide guidance, coaching and support to staff and new team members.

About you
* A team player, who is a self-motivated individual with experience meeting tight financial and administrative deadlines
* Willingness to attend the office located in Gateshead 5 days a week
* Experience with Financial data extraction and reporting including end of month finance processes
* Intermediate Excel skills
* Build and maintain excellent relationships with customers, colleagues and stakeholders, working collaboratively to improve service efficiency and consistency
* Thrive in a fast paced and high-volume environment with strong organisational skills in balancing a range of competing and conflicting priorities
* Proven time management and strong communication skills with high attention to detail
* Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
* Experience in providing high quality, customer focused business support in a fast paced, collaborative team environment
* Experience in the use of Microsoft 365 applications
* On site presence at the office
* Current NSW Drivers Licence
* Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
