Family Support Professional
We are seeking a dedicated Family Support Professional to deliver programs that support families with children 0-17.
The role involves providing quality interventions and services to families experiencing vulnerability, focusing on the safety and wellbeing of children. This includes education and practical support to enhance parenting skills and capacity, reducing risk factors impacting child safety.
1. Providing in-home and community interventions with varying intensities depending on family needs, in a child-centred and family-focused way.
2. Promoting cultural safety by engaging in relationships with Aboriginal controlled organisations and Aboriginal families.
3. Undertaking regular risk and needs assessments and case management, utilising frameworks like the Best Interest Framework.
4. Developing good working relationships with partners, including Aboriginal services, to ensure cultural safety and promote best outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering a range of placement prevention/reunification services, such as Changing Futures and Stronger Families.
* Actively engaging with children, young people, and families, including resistant ones, by being flexible, responsive, strengths-focused, and creative.
* Fulfilling program obligations regarding caseloads, targets, case recording, statistics, and data collection.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
1. Passion for working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
2. Experience as a Family Services Practitioner or similar role.
3. Ability to work within an Aboriginal-led organisation, promoting cultural safety and best outcomes.
Please note that we require candidates to have a current Police Check (National Police Certificate) and a current Australian driver's licence. A qualification in community services is also desirable.
